WE all look forward to time-out with friends and family, forgetting the day to day world even if just for a few days and a luxury treehouse just for 2, a super family holiday in a yurt or off-grid cottage might be just the ticket to that experience... Quality Unearthed certainly believe so!

Having spent a number of years living in unusual places and working on off-grid homes, Tim Rees, brainchild of Quality Unearthed spotted an increasing need to holiday in unique holiday properties such as eco-builds, tree houses and glamping abodes.

tree house.jpg

Quality Unearthed take all the learning on how to create holidays from its parent family company, Quality Cottages. They visit all the unique abodes personally and sometimes stay over to ensure the beds are comfy and warm... yes, it's a tough job!

Tim has a particular liking for tree houses (and is planning to build his own). He currently represents two amazing abodes in the trees with more in the pipeline.

The Bensfield Treehouse, only 1 hour from London, just outside Tunbridge Wells fulfills childhood fantasies like no other - a rope bridge to a haven all to oneself - this is not a treehouse complex but a world of complete privacy - the icing on top is a space to stay with a boutique hotel feel (A complimentary, organic and locally sourced breakfast is provided.)

'I am fascinated by tree houses and their interaction with their environment' says Tim Rees, owner of Quality Unearthed. 'I sat on the veranda in cosy sofa seats, listening to the birds tweeting and looking out onto the fields and forest with a cup of tea - perfect"

A mature oak tree ploughs right through the treehouse with an open plan, stylish room designed around it. Stay when the tree is sprouting leaves for that extra fairytale feeling.

The Acorn Treehouse, Devon is like a classic kids treehouse, but for grown ups. Set on its own in the heart of ancient woodland, it hovers 9 metres off the ground, offering complete peace and quiet - a true romantic bolt hole, replete with fairy lights at night.

" when you consider that no vehicles or machinery can get into the woods, you realise you are sleeping in an abode built with true craftsmanship" says Tim from Quality Unearthed.

No tree house holiday would be complete without a balcony and this one is rather special - surrounded by woodland with some evergreens, so no matter what the season, you will still be ensconced within a secretive yet light canopy. It's a great spot for lazy meals or relaxing with a book - literally amongst the branches and birds. And as night time falls, look up to starry skies above and listen out for the owls.
